This project improved the pedestrian accessibility and street dining experience along Tamaki Drive and Patteson Avenue. Fourteen on-street car parks were removed from Tamaki Drive to widen the footpaths to 6.5 metres, providing more open space for al fresco dining, with additional space for pedestrians to pass through safely. Plant buffers and seating were installed along Tamaki Drive, with further additional seating installed around the existing Pōhutukawa trees on Patteson Avenue.
Despite short notice for works to commence, JFC responded quickly and delivered the project to deadline, demonstrating JFC’s flexibility and responsiveness as a contractor; not only did we complete the project within the tight time constraints ready for the Streetscape Celebration on 10th December 2016, we efficiently maintained access to all businesses and managed material lead times.
