JFC, in joint venture with Downer EDI, had the privilege to construct one of the most iconic waterfront projects programmed in readiness for the 2011 Rugby World Cup. Silo Park was one of four projects in Stage One of the four-stage Wynyard Quarter revitalisation. The Wynyard Quarter revitalisation is one of the largest waterfront developments in New Zealand covering 27 hectares and involves the remediation of heavily contaminated land in a historically heavy industry sector of the City.
Works were undertaken to accommodate the tidal ranges and avoid any water inundation and included unstable sludge removal and the placing of mudcrete.
This was a complex project that involved extensive areas of paving works, including both in-situ and concrete block paving units to provide a varied and aesthetic feel for this prestigious public project.
Site works also involved significant street works, street furniture and facilities for a diverse and expansive playground including street artwork and lighting.
