JFC, in joint venture with City Care, repaired the iconic Bridge of Remembrance which was damaged in the Canterbury earthquakes and also constructed the surrounding Park of Remembrance. Our work included removing the walls at the western end, construction of a grand staircase, new paving to link to the river promenade and in-ground lighting to highlight the Bridge’s Triumphal Arch.
This project was completed to the highest of standards and within a tight deadline – requiring to be opened for the ANZAC Day parade in April 2016.
It was a real pleasure to be able to attend the service on ANZAC Day with many other Canterbury people thankful to have this special venue for remembrance restored.
