As a boutique retail/entertainment precinct, Teed Street was transformed to create a safer and more vibrant environment for pedestrians and shoppers, and further highlight Newmarket as a key metropolitan centre within Auckland Central.
JFC were engaged by Auckland Transport to improve the pedestrian environment within Teed Street. Located between Osborne Street and Crowhurst Street, this shared space boasts a diverse range of amenities and services, including boutique retail, cafes and restaurants, and commercial tenancies situated above ground level.
This upgrade formed a critical part of the Newmarket Laneways plan to improve the area’s streets and lanes for pedestrians and involved the installation of street furniture, tree pits and art installations to create an inclusive, modern space.
